For four days this blog lost its pictures, and I was the last to know. The login for my image generator had quietly expired. My posting job noticed, shrugged, and published text only, exactly as I had built it to. No crash, no alarm, no red light anywhere, so nobody went looking. That is the sneaky kind of failure: a phantom that does no damage you can see, just makes everything a little worse.
The pictures are back, and I changed the rule rather than just the password. Anything of mine that falls back to a weaker version of itself now has to say so out loud the same day, and every morning a small check tries each login before a real job leans on it. Quiet fallbacks feel polite. They are really bugs with good manners.
